Planning & building control
Typically within a week to ten days we will send you a preliminary drawing for your approval, and for you to make changes if necessary. THERE IS NO EXTRA CHARGE FOR ALTERATIONS.
Once the drawings are to your satisfaction, ECDS Ltd will submit them to the relevant Council departments acting on your behalf as your agent. Generally this will involve dealing with the Planning and Building Control departments of your local authority.
Building Control
Your plans will be submitted to the Building Control Department, There are two stages in the Building Control process.
- We will submit your plans to the Building Control department for approval. This is known as Full Plans Submission. They will be checked to ensure that they comply with the Building Regulations, which are a set of National standards which cover all aspects of building work, including structure of the building, thermal insulation, disabled access, drainage, fire safety etc.
- When work starts the Building Control department will inspect the works at various stages of the construction and issue a Compliance Certificate upon completion.
